An Uninformed Electorate Is The Delight Of Every Wicked Politician

Posted on August 20, 2022

Let’s face reality, in some parts of God’s Earth, especially in developing countries, most politicians would revel in the fact that their electorates may not be fully aware or enlightened enough to grasp certain issues except for mundane things. This sad situation keeps the electorate in the dark while the wicked politician continues to foment this experience so that they perpetuate themselves in power to the detriment of the people whose plight they ought to ameliorate.

It is true that politics is about power. Yet what ought to be of utmost priority should be the permissible accruables that holding such power should manifest for the benefit of the people. In our clime and moreso in Abia State, the aphorism above which constitutes the title for this piece holds true as politicians who have led the state have continued to bask in their vile nature of the seeming lack of suitably informed and strong electorate and for which they have continued to perpetuate their pillaging of the commonwealth of the great land which Abia State has always been.

A cursory observation of the political landscape in Abia State would indicate to the keen observer that alot has changed in the political consciousness of Abians since Year 1999 when Nigeria’s leadership transmuted once more to democracy. This turnaround as has now been entrenched, has elevated the discussion of Abians from mundane and ephemeral things to ideas of immense substance which will catalyse a change in their situations and also on certain personalities who they believe can instigate and sustain positive changes to their conditions based on the antecedents and proclivities of such eminent persons.

In this forthcoming electoral cycle in Nigeria, Abians and Nigerians in general, are ready to cause a revolution which would see the growth of issues-based democracy and the overthrow of wicked politicians who ordinarily would wish that the electorates are systematically and continually buried in smoke. These calibre of politicians are in for a massive shock of epic proportions as the electorates are now wide awake and have removed their toga of political illiteracy and adorned the garment of political maturity and consciousness which has now contributed to the elevation of discussions on prevailing issues affecting their conditions and situations on life.

In Abia State, the record has now been laid bare and the people are now completely aware of those who have held them down from attaining greatness, development and advancement in their personal situations. Indeed, Abians have elected to elect a true, simple, qualified and honest leadership that will catalyse and implement a rapid and sustained turnaround in their situations based on proclivities and antecedents of such personalities.

And we ask, who better to lead that turnaround than Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, the Abia address of sustainable empowerment?
