Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, Anambra State Branch, has called on all legible voters in the state to come out enmass on Saturday 8th November, 2025 and vote for candidates of their choice with conscience and conviction.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the group also warned against vote buying during the election and advised the electorate to reject electoral inducements, unbridled quest for materialism, manipulations, vote selling/buying, but to vote for credible, God fearing, charismatic, competent, capable, compassionate servant leader among the candidates.
This was contained in CLO’s pre-election world press conference held in Awka, Anambra State, themed “Your vote power to enthrone good leaders” signed by their Chairman, Evangelist Vincent Ezekwueme, Secretary, Comrade Chidi Mbah and Comrade Damian Ogudike respectively.
They appealed to the electorate not to allow monetary inducements becloud their sense of judgement, wisdom and public interest.
“A vote is like a bullet, it’s usefulness depends on the voter. So let your vote become useful by voting for the best candidate, political parties, clans, religious and tribal affiliations notwithstanding.”
CLO equally commended CP Ikioye Orutugu for his patriotic relentless efforts to ensure free, fair, credible and peaceful Anambra 2025 gubernatorial election and the proactive measures he has taken to ensure adequate security and peaceful election.
They noted that the CP’s recent visits to various Police formations under his jurisdiction, his messages and directives that all officers on election duty must be upright, impartial, neutral, patriotic and above board, banning of vigilantes on operation on election day, zero tolerance for corruption, electoral fraud, ballot box snatching, thuggery, vote buying and any vices has rekindled the people’s faith in the electoral process.
We equally extolled the political maturity, discipline, decorum, issues based campaigns exhibited by the Governorship Candidate of Labour Party Chief Dr.George Moghalu. We equally call on other candidates to emulate him to help douse political tensions in the state.
“Similarly parents, guardians should advice their children not to allow themselves to be used for thuggery before, during and after the election” CLO posited.
“Finally, the New INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, should use the Anambra governorship election to demonstrate his ability, integrity, capacity and capability to entrench credible electoral process that will restore the voting strength of the citizens in subsequent elections” the CLO stated
