Anambra Central Stakeholders Demand Accountability From Senator Victor Umeh Ahead Of 2027

The  Anambra Central Political Stakeholders’ Forum has called on the Senator representing the district, Senator Victor Umeh, to present a full account of his stewardship to constituents.

The demand was one of the key resolutions at the Forum’s general meeting held in Awka at the weekend and the statement was signed by High Chief Chike Ubanah, Okaka na Umuoji, Vice Chairman, Anambra Central Political Stakeholders’ Forum and Hon. Paul Eze, Executive Secretary, Anambra Central Political Stakeholders’ Forum

After reviewing representation, infrastructure, empowerment and development in the district, the Forum resolved that:

1.  Stewardship Report: Senator Umeh should present a detailed report of his achievements in the last 3 years and 4 months, including bills sponsored, motions moved, legislative contributions, and constituency projects executed.

2.  Performance-Based Endorsement: Any decision to support the Senator for a second term in 2027 will be based strictly on verifiable achievements and direct impact across the 7 Local Government Areas in Anambra Central.

3.  End to Politics of Patronage: Leadership will henceforth be based on track record and service delivery, not personal connections.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the leadership of the Forum said constituents are now more politically aware and expect results from their representatives.

“The people of Anambra Central are demanding accountability. We appreciate every effort made so far, but we need to know exactly how the mandate given to us has been used,” the Forum stated.

“We want to see tangible projects, empowerment programs, and visible federal presence in our communities. The era of ‘hanging on somebody’s back’ in leadership is over.”

The Forum urged Senator Umeh to organize town-hall meetings across the Senatorial District to interface directly with stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth leaders, women groups, and town unions.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and participatory democracy, noting that constructive engagement between elected officials and the electorate is key to sustainable development.
