Anambra NUJ Election: Let The Best Candidate Win! – Says State Government

The Anambra State Government  has categorically denounced rumours that it has endorsed a candidate for the forthcoming Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra Chapter election, scheduled to hold on January 24, 2024.
Reacting to the rumours, Dr Law Mefor, Honourable Commissioner for Information said, “We view these rumours as baseless and misleading, and we urge all stakeholders to disregard them. The Anambra State Government remains committed to upholding the principles of fairness, transparency, and democracy”.
“As the election approaches, we wish all contestants and members of the NUJ Anambra Chapter a free, credible, and peaceful election. May the best candidate emerge, and may the union continue to thrive under the leadership of its chosen representatives.”
“We recognize the vital role journalists play in our democracy, and we appreciate their tireless efforts to promote truth, accountability, and good governance.”
“Once again, the State Government have not endorsed any candidate and assure the public of our commitment to a free and fair election.”
