Anambra Speaker Calls For Full Integration Of Persons With Disability Into Public & Private Sectors

As the world marks the International Day of Persons With Disabilities today, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu, says the state legislature has passed the “Disability Rights Bill” to integrate persons with disabilities into full activities in the state.
In her goodwill message to mark the day, Barrister Maduagwu called on various governments and Houses of Assembly in the Country to formulate policies and legislations aimed at improving the living conditions of persons with disabilities.
The Speaker who extolled the wife of the Governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano for using her pet project, “Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE)” to provide meaningful life for the disabled persons in the state, enjoined well meaning citizens to use part of their wealth in giving a better life to people living with disabilities in their midst.
Barrister Maduagwu however urged people with disabilities to live above all forms of discrimination and stigmatization and utilize their God’s given talents in their various areas of specialization to improve their well being.
She called on private and public organizations to integrate persons with disabilities into their schemes and provide an enabling environment for them in order to maximize their potentials.
