Anambra State Govt Tasks Market Leaders On Tax Payment, Cleanliness & Sanitation

In a bid to raise awareness for the “solution mantra” of a clean, green, healthy, liveable and sustainable Anambra, an interactive session with market leaders was held at Government House, Awka 
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Osita Chukwulobelu, made the proper introductions while charging the market leaders on sincerity of purpose and partnership with the state for a liveable homeland
On their parts Chairman AIRS, Hon Richard Madiebo and SPAD on trade and markets, Mr. Evarist Uba, added that payment of tax is very crucial for all round development in the state
In the same energy, the Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Dr Felix Odimegwu, seized the opportunity to educate the market leaders on sanitation and cleanliness while also tasking them to take ownership of cleaning up their markets.
“The pay direct policy of waste management allows for direct waste management evacuation by organised communities and associations who generate such waste.”
“The desilting of canals and drainages flagged off by Mr. Governor, Prof  Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, which involves massive waste evacuation is a continuous process and as partners they have a role to play in realizing this very important vision of Mr. Governor” Engr Felix Odimegwu added.
While airing their opinions, the market leaders promised to take down this message of tax payment, cleanliness and sanitation to their various market units, while assuring the State Government of their total commitment to the progress of the state.
Other government officials present included: Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Chinedu Nwoye Glamour, Chairman Anambra State Urban Regeneration Council, Arc Michael Okonkwo, Chairman ASMATA, Onwa Oraeri amongst others
