Anambra State House Of Assembly Confirms Chief Judge & Auditor General

Anambra State House of Assembly in an emergency sitting held on 26th July, 2019, confirmed two nominees for the office of the Chief Judge and the Auditor General of the State respectively.

Moving the motion, Hon. Dr. Nnamdi Okafor, Member Representing Awka South I and the Majority Leader of the Assembly, moved that Chief Barr. Mrs. Ifeoma Onwuegbu, who has been on the Acting Practice for the stipulated time and has been found worthy of the aforementioned office, be confirmed as the Chief Judge of Anambra State and Mr. Alex Onwuli as the Auditor General of Anambra State.

Honourable Members of the state Assembly having observed all the due procedures and processes, confirmed Barr. Mrs. Ifeoma Onwuegbu as the Chief Judge and Mr. Alexander Onwuli as the Auditor General of the State.

Addressing the press immediately after the plenary, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, congratulated Justice Ifeoma Onwuegbu who happened to be the first female Chief Judge of the state, noting that women deserves equal right in the society and should be accorded with all due respect and positions.
