Anambra State: Prof Chukwuma Soludo, Deputy Sworn-In

The Governor-elect of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has been sworn-in as the sixth democratically elected Governor of the state.

The event, which held at the Government House, Awka, had many dignitaries, including Chief Sir Willie Obiano, wife, members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, religious leaders and top Government functionaries in attendance.

Prof Chukwuma Soludo arrived the venue at exactly 8:54am alongside his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, as well as his children. His Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim and his wife were already seated by then.

Soludo was officially sworn in by the State Chief judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, at exactly 9:45am.

After that, the new Governor inspected the guard of honour, his first task as Governor of the State.

Soludo had earlier indicated that immediately after the swearing-in, he would proceed to Okpoko, a sprawling slum, near Onitsha, where he would spend his first working hours in a bid to provide better living for the people.
