Anambra’s Re-Engineering: Inside Soludo’s ‘Next Steps: The Road Ahead’ Execution Plan

With the official resumption of work at the ‘Light House,’ the permanent seat of governance, Soludo’s administration has entered a critical phase of its first term. The focus has shifted from laying foundations to a more vigorous execution of plans. This strategic approach, titled “The Next Steps: The Road Ahead,” was unveiled during his administration’s third-anniversary celebration and aims to effectively coordinate and deliver projects in an unprecedented manner.

Soludo’s directive to the members of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) at our first meeting held in the new Executive Chamber was clear: adopt a “balcony moment” perspective to assess progress and identify gaps, enabling coordination and delivery in ways that have not been done before.

Here’s an exclusive overview of how Soludo is re-engineering the future of Anambra.

In addition to completing the awarded road projects and starting new ones, including the dualization of federal roads, Soludo’s vision for Awka 2.0, Onitsha 2.0, and the Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City (AMIC) is shifting from blueprints to actual construction. The AMIC project aims to establish the state as a manufacturing hub, while a state-backed rail network will connect commercial zones. This vision focuses on building a livable homeland rather than merely making political promises.

From the Solution Fun City to Anambra Park, envisioned as a “Garden of Eden,” and the construction of a 10-story Marriott Hotel in Awka, Soludo is investing in tourism as an economic catalyst. The new government house, built after 34 years, symbolizes his commitment to restoring pride in public infrastructure.

Soludo’s strategy is clear: let results be the measure of success. By prioritizing execution, he is redefining the standards for governance and his message is clear: “History will judge us by what we deliver, not by what we promise.” With 746 km of road projects leading to the Trauma Center and five brand new general hospitals completed, Anambra’s transformation is accelerating, one completed project at a time.
