Another Set Of Buruj Sports Academy Players Storm European Clubs

Posted on January 12, 2025

Buruj Sports Academy marked another milestone today as the final group of its players departed Nigeria on 12th January, 2025, for European clubs, continuing the academy’s legacy of producing world-class football talents.

The four players — Ubong Samson (striker), Faruq Bolatito Ogunbiyi (defender), Ebubechukwu David Malobi (defender), and Olayinka Habeeb Ayobami (midfielder) — are set to join clubs in Spain and Lithuania, where they will pursue their professional careers.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that this move followed the recent departure of Ogwu Peace Chukwuemeka, who also secured a deal with a Lithuanian club earlier this month.

With these transfers, Buruj Sports Academy is proving its commitment to providing young Nigerian talents with opportunities on international platforms.

Speaking on their departure, the academy’s CEO, Waheed Salaudeen, expressed pride in the players’ achievements.

“This is a proud moment for Buruj Sports Academy. These boys represent the culmination of years of hard work, discipline, and relentless ambition. We are confident they will excel and bring pride to themselves, their families, and Nigeria,” Salaudeen said.

The players also shared their excitement and gratitude, vowing to make the most of this opportunity. Striker Ubong Samson, who is joining Spanish side Berja CF, said, “This is a dream come true for me, and I intend to give my all to succeed”.

His sentiments were echoed by the other players, who emphasized their determination to represent Nigeria and the academy with pride.

As Buruj Sports Academy continues to send its players to international clubs, it solidifies its reputation as a leading talent hub, bridging the gap between grassroots football and global success.

The academy’s efforts are raising the profile of Nigerian football on the world stage.
