Arewa Community Adopts Senator Adeola, Turbans Him As Seriki Yakin Tafida

The Arewa Community in Lagos State under the leadership of Alhaji Sani Kabiru, the Seriki Hausawa of Lagos State and Chairman Arewa Traditional Council in Lagos has adopted Senator Solomon Adeola as their candidate for the Lagos West Senatorial District in the February 16 Election. According to Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Aide to the distinguished Senator, the adoption took place immediately after the turbaning of the Senator as Serikin Yakin Tafida of Lagos State at the palace of Seriki Hausawa in Yaba, Lagos.

Alhaji Kabiru stated that the Arewa Community in Lagos had watched the contributions of Senator Adeola to the development of Lagos from his days in the Lagos State House of Assembly and his contributions at the national level as a member of theHouse of Representatives to his senatorial representation and found him worthy of their support for continuity of quality service in the Senate.”We are aware of your record of service in Lagos State that led to your elevation to the National Assembly. We want you to continue in office as Senator and have now incorporated you into the Royal Family of Arewa conmunity in Lagos State and nationwide through this turbaning as Seriki Yakin Tafida of Lagos State” the Arewa traditional ruler stated.

Alhaji Kabiru said that the Arewa Community commended Senator Adeola for his poverty alleviation programmes for his constituents stressing that henceforth the Arewa community should be carried along in this programmes.

“Every Arewa person us now has been mandated to work only for Senator Adeola in Lagos West as well as all APC candidates. Since 1999, the Arewa has always identified with the progressives beginning from AD, to AC, ACN and now APC” he stated.

In his response after his turbaning in presence of all the traditional rulers of Hausa communities across Lagos West and other parts of Lagos, Senator Adeola commended the Arewa community for the honour done him and their support for the progressives over the years adding that he will never let them down in all his programmes and representation.

“I will live up to the title of a war leader that you bestowed on me for the cause of Arewa. I am fully in support of President Mohammed Buhari and urge all Nigerians to vote for APC as it is the only party that has the interest of majority of Nigerians at heart.” he stated.
