Our Awards Nite Was Glamourous – Prince Okumagba

It was indeed a night of glamour and glitz on Friday 24th May, 2019, at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, as the Prince Vincent Okumagba led Super Eagles Supporters Club held their Awards Nite.

The well attended event brought together major football stakeholders, captains of industry, invited guests and members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club from branches across the country.

In his opening address, the National President of the Club, Prince Okumagba, said that the Awards Nite was an opportunity for them to show appreciation to individuals and corporate bodies who had given them tremendous support in the past and also raise some funds towards their preparation to provide massive support to the Super Eagles during the AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

The event, which was chaired by Otunba Sola Oladejo, featured the official inauguration of the Club’s Board of Patrons, Board of Trustees, public presentation and launching of a new magazine by the club called the ‘Super Supporter’.

Among the notable awardees were the Aiteo Group for the sponsorship of football in Nigeria, Ethiopian Airline as the Most Friendly Airline to Super Eagles Supporters Club, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, Otunba Sola Oladejo, founder of Yemkem International Group – Akintunde Ishola Ayeni, Hon. Capt. Jacob Adejumo, CP Aliyu Balarabe Abubakar, Comrade Oyelekan Lateef Idowu, Otunba Ayodele Osibogun, Bobboi Bala Kaigama, Chief Barr. Sir Joemartins Osita Uzodike, Adron Homes, Zikel Cosmetics and others.

Also honoured was the Honourable Minister for Sports, Barr. Solomon Selcalp Dalung and President of the Nigeria Football Federation & 1^st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, for their outstanding contributions to football development in Nigeria.

High points of the event were the decoration of the Patrons, Matron, members of the Board of Trustees, presentation of awards to the best male and female supporters, release of the CD of the newest song for Super Eagles and the launching of the Super Supporter Magazine by spirited individuals and corporate bodies.

The event was also spiced with good music from the DJ and the rendition of melodious tunes and dancing by members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club.
