Awka Model Estate Signs N1.74b Contract With Sagez For The Construction Of Internal Roads

Awka Millenium City management has entered a contract with Sajez Nig. Ltd for the development of the 5.81km internal access roads of the Millenium City project worth about N1.747b.  

The contract signing ceremony was held earlier today at the Awka Millenium City site where Mr. Chimmy Ogbuebile, the Chief Executive Officer of the estate signed on behalf of AMC while Mr. Adeyinka Amosun signed on behalf of Sajez.

 In his address, Mr. Ogbuebile said, “We are delighted that you all could join us to witness the official contract signing ceremony for the N1.747b construction of second phase of internal roads in the estate totalling 5.81 kilometres. The contract will be delivered in nine(9) months”.  ” We are about completing 1.9 kilometres of world class dual carriage roads. We have completed the construction of covered drainages and walkways; the TCN Access Road, AMC Avenue and AMC Boulevard are nearing completion, all in record time of 3 months”.

 However, Mr. Ogbuebile pointed out that although the memorandum of understanding with the Anambra state government for the development of the smart city was signed on Tuesday, June 19, 2019 and in view of the global pandemic – Coronavirus, he announced that work has continued at the site.  In his remarks, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Michael M. Okonkwo noted that the smart city is another Aku Luo Uno call answered by a worthy Anambra son.

 He pointed out that the estate when completed will be the best planned city in the entire part of Eastern Nigeria and therefore congratulated the Awka Millenium City Development Corporation for living up to the dictates of the contract entered with the state government.  In their separate speeches, Mr. Jide Ikeakor, the MD/CEO of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency and Ven. Barr. Amaechi Okwuosa, MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority commended AMC for their huge investments in the state.

 They appreciated Governor Obiano for his visionary leadership of the state. Other dignitaries present during the contract signing include: Chief Uche Nworah PhD., MD/CEO, ABS, Hon. Emeka Ozumba, Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Governor Obiano among others.
