A board member of Badagry United Football Club, Danladi Musa has explained why his team cannot feature in the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup.

Musa in chat with our correspondent said Badagry United are just established and the club management is working round the clock to put things in place before they can enter a big football competitions within and outside Lagos like Lagos State.

He said the team are presently engaging in friendly matches to keep the players fit and prepare them for future challenges.

He revealed that Badgary United are not ripe for Lagos FA Cup because the coaching crew are still looking for quality players that would make the team formidable in the future.

“FA Cup is not ordinary grassroots football competition. If a club is playing in FA Cup,the team should have started preparation six months ago or probably a year. We are just a new born baby and we cannot rush into FA Cup.To be honest with you we are not yet ripe for Lagos FA Cup.

“What we are doing now is to engage the team in friendly matches and assess our players and shop for new players. I am happy that Badagry United are waxing stronger and the club is well known in Lagos,” he concludes.
