Bonny Council Boss, Dame Anengi Barasua Directs Immediate Removal Of Illegal Structures On Drainage Systems & Walkways

Immediately after her swearing-in as the Executive Chairman of Bonny LGA, Rivers State, by His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua, JP, rolled her sleeves to work leaving nobody in doubt that she truly came to serve the people and not to be served; as it has become a tradition to see her either supervising ongoing projects, monitoring compliance to directives or assessing submitted executed jobs on her table.
Expectedly, the workaholic Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua, JP, on Monday, 29th November, 2021, visited select strategic locations in the area, doing on the spot assessment ahead of the Yuletide season and the 25th royal anniversary celebration of His Majesty, King Dr. Edward Asimini William Dappa III,JP, CON, Perekule XI, Natural Ruler and Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny Kingdom.

During the timely inspection assessment tour of the area, the Council Boss, Dame Anengi Barasua, JP, alongside Amasenibo Blessing Ezekiel Hart, Sub-Committee Chairman on Maintenance and Sanitation, of the forthcoming epoch making event, bemoaned the spate of erected illegal structures, which obstruct free flow of water in the various drainages and walkways by residents.

While addressing the press, infuriated Dame Anengi Barasua, JP, advised the people to always maintain good hygiene by keeping their surroundings clean even as she directed for the removal of all illegal structures with immediate effect as grace of one week compliance was given them between Monday, November 29th to Friday, December 3, 2021.

However, at the Coal Beach area, a rather proactive Madam Chairman ordered all cargo and boat owners at the jetty; including traders, to vacate the area within one week for a comprehensive clean up of the messy environment.

To this end, the workaholic Council Boss, Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua, JP, reiterated her avowed commitment to demolishing all illegal structures on drainage areas, walkways and road sides as disobedience to the early warnings and directives shall attract stringent penalties.

Meanwhile, other areas visited by Madam Chairman during her on the spot assessment inspection tour in Bonny LGA included; Slaughter Market, Ikuba Market, Mission Road, Government Primary School Compound, New Road, Wilbros Pipeline and Workers’ Camp.
