Boy, 15, Arrested For Engaging Girl, 4, In S*x

A 15-year old boy (name withheld), who was arrested in Lagos for allegedly engaging a 4-year old girl in sex, has confessed to the Police that he did so because he had desired to have sex for a long while.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Baderin Street, Mafoluku area of Oshodi, Lagos, where they reside. 

The suspect reportedly lured the little girl into his parents apartment, removed her pant and penetrated her.
However, he was caught in the act and handed over to the Police in the area. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation.

The boy now risks several years of imprisonment despite his age if he is tried and found guilty for statutory rape before the Court.
He was said to have admitted that he committed the offence and was then charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.The prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the defendant is still a minor.Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in correctional centre and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 13th July, 2020, while he will be in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.The names of both the defendant and victim were withheld in line with the policy of P.M.EXPRESS because they are minors.
