Brother Sends Blood Sister To Jail For Beaten His Errant Son

A Nigerian-based overseas has sent his blood sister, Patience Oguariri to prison for allegedly beating his son, Joshua Oguariri while correcting the boy for wrong deeds in Okota, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Patience was handed over to the police at Ago- Okota division and was charged before Isolo Magistrates’ court with assault, based on the specific directive of her brother.
The incident happened at 23 Orebote Street in Ago, Okota where they reside.
41-year old Patience reportedly used stick and flogged Joshua for misbehaving in the compound and the father, who returned recently from abroad, heard about it and became furious.
He then handed over his sister to the police.
The brother, it was gathered, viewed her sister’s action as child abuse and insisted she must pay the price as it is being done abroad.
Despite pleading from family members and neighbours, the brother refused and insisted that the law must take its course.
Patience was then charged to court and remanded in prison.
She was charged with conduct likely to cause breach of peace by pushing Joshua and using stick to flog him under the Criminal code.
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Adedayo granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was further adjourned till 24 May 2017.
