The Comptroller General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd), and his management team paid a sightseeing visit to the Ikorodu Government warehouse under Zone A of the Customs Service in Lagos State to renew the lease, get familiar with the place and also to support and encourage the officers of the service.

Speaking to some of the men of the service at the site, the CGC said he wants the Ikorodu zone to start functioning like other zones to enable them carry out functions the same way FOU is.

The OC Government warehouse, AC Kidda, told P.M.EXPRESS that the Comptroller and the Customs Service are just trying to see how the Customs Government Warehouse and Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA, which is the sole owner of the place, are going to work in synergy.

The Government warehouse is said to belong to NPA, which is referred to the landlord of all ports. The warehouse is where Customs seized and detained goods are kept overtime.
