The Igbo Apex leader and President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has warned against plans by members of cabals within the Igbo circles to form fake Ohanaeze with the sole aim of fighting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and APC in Lagos State in the 2023 elections.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Aguene warned that Ndigbo will not allow those jobbers to cause trouble for them in Lagos State by planning to destroy the good relationship existing between the Igbo and other ethnic groups in the State.
Aguene stated these and warned Ndigbo to be weary of those characters based on the recent invitation being circulated on the social media signed by Mrs. Violet Uche Obiora as Publicity Secretary for the second fake inauguration of Chief Sunday Ossai led new executives of Ohanaeze in Lagos State on 10th September, 2022, at Muson Centre, Lagos.
He stated that there is only one Ohanaeze in Lagos State led by Chief Solomon Aguene, whose Secretariat is located at James Robinson Street, Surulere area of Lagos State.
Chief Aguene advised the Igbo and members of the public to ask any individual or group inviting them for Ohanaeze meeting to indicate the office address or the meeting venue. And if it is not the Secretariat of Ohanaeze, then they should know it is a fake one created to scam members of the public.
He noted that he was aware that some members of the cabals within the Igbo circle had swindled one Chief Sunday Ossai millions of Naira and promised to make him the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, a non-existing position based on the subsisting Lagos State High Court judgement.
To justify the huge sums of money obtained from Chief Ossai and his sponsors, they arranged the Chairman of a faction of Ohanaeze in Abia State to perform a second fake inauguration of Ossai led executives, who felt betrayed by the failed promises by members of the cabals to force Chief Aguene to vacate his office as President for him.
Aguene explained that members of the cabals, who had been parading one Chief Sunday Ossai as the new President of Ohanaeze, created that for the sole purpose of fighting the APC and Lagos State Government led by Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu’s Presidential candidacy for 2023 in order to achieve their selfish purpose.
He reiterated the stand of Ndigbo in Lagos State to work with Governor Sanwo-Olu and the APC in both in Lagos State and at the Federal level and urged the Lagos State Government to be weary of the group known as ‘Ikeja Mafia’ among the Igbo.
He wondered why such group will conceive such a satanic idea to fight the owners of the land, who have accepted, accommodated the Igbo and have demonstrated that over the years.
Aguene stated that Ndigbo will not allow those disgruntled elements to destroy the good relationship which has existed between the Igbo and Yoruba including other ethnic groups in Lagos State.
He explained that his administration will elapse in 2026 following the subsisting Lagos State High Court judgment that directed so through a Consent Judgment by the Igbo in Lagos State.
Aguene recalled some of the assistance the Igbo had benefitted from the ruling party through the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which included relief materials for the less privileged among the Igbo, paid hospital bills, assistance to the Igbo in times of needs and always listening to the Igbo people when there is any complaints.
Chief Aguene maintained that Ndigbo are wise people and there is every need to continue to maintain the cordial relationship, which exists between Ndigbo and the owners of the land. He said that it was what necessitated the creation of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum led by Chief Chris Ekwilo and other political actors to galvanize and mobilize Ndigbo across the 57 Local Council areas in Lagos to vote for Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu under the APC.
