Over the years, in the political arrangement of Nigeria, every electioneering season, politicians canvass for votes and support with no attempts to understand that it’s about people’s lives, their hopes, dreams and also their aspirations.
In Imo West Senatorial District, the emergence of Labour Party’s candidate, Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize -Chukwu, has changed that political narrative as Orlu Senatorial zone is witnessing the first real emergence of a people’s movement, which focuses on everyone coming together to elect ‘their own Senator’ on the basis of the recognition that it is all about them, their children, their future and how to address the security challenge in Orlu, restore the people’s confidence in going back to their deserted farmlands due to fear while using the enormous resources in the oil-producing area to develop Orlu zone.

Just like a medical doctor who wants to put in place a dependable health delivery architecture that would help carter to the health needs of his patients; Chief Charles Ahize, a born philanthropist, careless giver and strong advocate for social justice, through his political manifesto and social contract with Orlu people as encapsulated in his Orlu Recovery Project, is determined to rewrite the representation narrative in Imo West Senatorial District; wherein, elected senators and members of the House of Representatives always abandon the electorate after elections and only come back to seek their support again during the electioneering season like this.

He also wants to use his rich business contacts, national spread and strong voice to attract Federal Government presence in Orlu zone, if elected into office. To stop the long age diversion of Federal job opportunities to the families and cronies of elected senators, House of Representatives’ members and political leaders in the zone instead of creating equal opportunities for all the eligible qualified graduates and other youths. Recovering Orlu and returning it back to Orlu people; is the driving force behind his senatorial aspiration and not for personal gains as Charles Ahize for long has been a problem-solver, rescuer, performer, and helper even without holding any public trust.

In lieu of the above, the organic support for the candidacy of Chief Charles Ahize of Labour Party for Imo West Senatorial District has continued to grow in leaps and bounds as he visited Orlu LGA on Sunday, 4th December, 2022, for the inauguration of his Ward Coordinators in what appeared like a home-coming for the Ihioma Orlu born multi-millionaire automobile dealer, respected community leader, philanthropist and frontline senatorial hopeful.

Briefly welcoming the Labour Party candidate and members of his entourage, the Orlu LGA Coordinator of Charles Ahize Senatorial Campaign Council, Hon. Edinburgh Olumba (Mr. E), narrated his growing up with Chief Ahize while pointing out he is an honest friend, advocate of justice and a good giver who always wants to see other smile even at the cost of his own comfort. He maintained rather in strong terms that Charley Akpuruka is a successful businessman of over 30 years with rich class of friends like Aliko Dangote, Peter Otedola, etc, taking a bet on his behalf that he will do absolutely well if elected into office as Orlu Senator.

Inaugurating the 13 Ward Coordinators of Charles Ahize Campaign Organisation in Orlu LGA, Hon. Barr. Emeka Etukemka, who administered the oath of office to the newly inducted Apostles of Chief Charles Ahize on behalf of the Director General, Dr. C. C. Ubah, charged them to work very assiduously in ensuring victory for Labour Party, its Senatorial candidate , Chief Charles Ahize and also it’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi among others.

Spokesman of the Campaign Organisation and a former Special Adviser to Imo governor on Political Matters, Dr. Batos Nwadike, while commending Orlu people for their massive turnout and patience, however, gave them the assurances that their son, the incoming Senator of Orlu zone, Chief Charles Ahize, is poised towards changing the ugly narratives of representatives governance in the last two decades, maintaining that he is a good product that sells itself in the market place.

Savvy and also electrifying, Oyi of Igboland told his audience not to vote for the PDAPC and those who went to the National Assembly for 8 years only to learn how to say opening prayers during plenary session and how to move a motion to change Nigeria’s anthem.

Dr. Batos Nwadike maintained in strong terms that with the support of the good people of Orlu for their son, Chief Charles Ahize, he can create a new GRA from the zone making it a metropolitan and envy of other zones in Imo State.

In his brief remarks, candidate of Labour Party for Orlu State Constituency, Comr. Precious Nwadike, noted that Chief Charles Ahize is a proud son of Orlu zone and Imo State who has made his mark in the socio-economic and leadership discuss of Nigeria. And as an established entrepreneur, he has all it takes to transform Orlu zone to the envy of other political zones in Nigeria, promising to talk more about him during the campaign season.

Interacting with his kinsmen and Labour Party Ward and LGA Coordinators, Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize told them that he did not come to campaign in Orlu LGA, but rather to send them a goodwill message of hope, of restoration and of a New Nigeria under the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Ob, and the assurances of placing Orlu Zone on the roadmap of structural and infrastructural development.

The Labour Party candidate for Orlu/Orsu/Oru -East Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Geff Ojinika (Odozi Obodo), Comr. Precious Nwadike, candidate of Labour Party for Orlu State Constituency, Dr. Batos Nwadike, Hon. Lawrence Onyebuchi (Ajuntu), etc, all took turns to commend the leadership resilience and tenacity of Chief Charles Ahize; trusting God he would emerge victorious at the polls as Orlu’s next Senator.
The political parley ended in an atmosphere of social conviviality and warm compliments as His Royal Highness Eze (Dr.) Douglas Okwara (Okwarachukwu IV), Igwe of Umuna, played grand reception to Orlu incoming Senator, High Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize -Chukwu (Ugochinyere Mba of Ihioma).
