Chief Of Army Staff To Partner AFRC

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has promised to
partner the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre in the area of developmental
farming which will be of benefit to the retirees and the general public.
The Lieutenant General said this during the inspection of ongoing projects in
Ikeja Army Cantonment, Lagos on Friday 28th of February, 2020.
The General went round all the new buildings, visited schools and new
constructed blocks of classrooms to ascertain their state of readiness for
occupation.

The Army General also proceeded on guided tour of facilities of Nigerian Army Aviation Pilot accommodation of ten self-contained flats. Thereafter, he proceeded to a two block of seventy-eight fully furnished Cantonment Transit Officers accommodation by Ilupeju gate and finally, the newly remodeled Cantonment Officers’ Mess.

According to the Army Public Relations Officer,
Major Clement Abiade, It would be recalled that barely three weeks ago, the
COAS commissioned seven units of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) Quarters at
Ikeja Army Cantonment.
He said projects, which were embarked by the Nigerian Army Special Projects
Department, will subsequently be commissioned at later date to ameliorate acute
shortage of accommodation experienced by the Nigerian Army troops.
The COAS was accompanied by the GOC 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen JO
Irefin and his other Principal Staff Officers and was received by the Commander
9 Brigade, Brig Gen MA Etsu-Ndagi.
