It was really double jeopardy for Chief Sunday Ossai after the Igbo cabals in Lagos swindled him millions of Naira while purporting to install him into a non-vacant position as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State as the whole promises turned out to be big scam, which has equally landed him in trouble in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State led by the amiable President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has filed Form 48 and 49 before the Lagos High Court for contempt to commit Chief Ossai and others to prison over their conduct by parading themselves as executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos.
The embattled Ossai was said to have spent huge amount of money in order to become the President in a move orchestrated by the cabal within the Igbo circle in Lagos led by Eze Uche Dimgba and was expecting to take over from Chief Aguene as was promised by members of the cabal but the whole promises turned out to be a hoax.
An embittered Ossai could not gain access to the Ohanaeze Secretariat at James Robinson Street, Surulere area of Lagos State, as was promised and has resorted to having meetings at various bars and joints in Ikeja and Amuwo Odofin, which has cost him few followers that followed him initially.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Chief Ossai has now realized that he was deceived because there was a subsisting Court judgment,  which empowers Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene as President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos.
Following the Consent Judgment pronounced by the Lagos State High Court dated 12th April, 2022, Chief Solomon Ogbonna will now spend the next four years as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State.
In the suit filed in 2018 before the Ikeja High Court over the annulment of Ohanaeze Ndigbo election in Lagos State, by a faction led by Chief Mike Chidedelu, Dr Femi Ferguson and others, on behalf of their group against Chief Solomon Ogbonna’s faction, asking the Court to reinstate and recognise their faction, was finally resolved with terms of settlement as Consent Judgment before the Court.
Part of the judgment include, apart from Chief Solomon Ogbonna, who was retained as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, other Executive members elected with him were dissolved and fresh election was ordered for the vacant positions by the Court.
Court also ordered that the factions be merged and they were eligible to contest for the elective positions that were declared vacant for the conduct of the election as announced by the President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna.
The Court directed that the Electoral Committee set up by Chief Solomon Ogbonna led by Chief Oliver Akubueze be retained and conduct election for both the Local Government and State Executives with the bylaws of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State.
However, the electoral committee went ahead to declare Chief Sunday Ossai as President against the Court judgment, which has now landed him in trouble as he faces terms of imprisonment for parading himself as President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
The development was confirmed by the President of Ohanaeze, Chief Solomon Aguene, who explained that he did not want to go to Court initially to commit Ossai and others to prison because they are brothers but they had been constituting nuisance in Lagos State and if they are allowed to continue, the image of Ndigbo will be at stake in Lagos State.
