The National Civil Society Coalition on Arts, Culture and Creative Economy has applauded the transformative leadership of Mr. Obi Asika, Director General/CEO of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), presenting him with a Certificate of Credence in recognition of his remarkable achievements.
Led by Amb. Kingsley Enwelim Nwanze, DG/CEO of the Centre for Leadership and Creative Entrepreneurs in Africa Ltd/GTE, the Coalition paid a strategic working visit to NCAC headquarters in Abuja to explore deeper collaboration in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The delegation praised the Council’s completion of Nigeria’s New Cultural Policy, (soon to be unveiled) and commended initiatives such as the Innovative Creative Entrepreneurship (ICE) program and the Creative Lead Acceleration Program (CLAP), designed to equip Nigerian youths with skills and opportunities in the global creative economy.
While hailing the Council’s efforts towards becoming a revenue-generating agency, the Coalition expressed concern over its underfunding and urged the Federal Government to increase its budgetary allocation, noting NCAC’s strategic role in tackling youth unemployment through arts, culture, and creativity.
