CLEP Endorses Ambode For 2nd Term

CLEP – the Coalition of Lagos Enterpreneurs and Professionals on Monday declared their support and endorsed Gov Akinwunmi Ambode for a 2nd term in office.

The group officially made their declaration and endorsement in a conference held on Monday 19th March, 2019 at Diplomat Suites, Oduduwa Way, G.R.A., Ikeja.

One of the executives of the coalition, Mr. Iyke Nwosu, at the conference explained that CLEP is a body of well over four million entrepreneurs, innovators and professionals in the formal and informal sectors of the Nigerian economy across the state. And as stakeholders they came together as a group to show their support.

The coordinator of CLEP – Comrade Niyi Ahmed Ojikutu in his speech highlighted some of the reasons that prompted the decision to endorse Gov Akinwunmi Ambode. He said that Gov Ambode had over time shown that he believed in the saying that “arm the people more with jobs so that you can arm the police less with ammunitions”.

Comrade Ojikutu mentioned some of the strides of the governor which included the creation of the Ministry of Wealth Creation & Employment, providing of support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through direct access to loans at single digit, creating more business friendly environment for small and growing businesses, for helping the creative industry and supporting innovations in no small measure

At the conference were Special Adviser to Gov Ambode on Political Matters – Engr. Adekunle Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to Gov Ambode on Civic Engagement – Hon. Taiwo Ayedun, GM (Lagos Law Enforcement Institute) – Hon. Wale Ojora, Vice Chairman (Ikorodu Local Government Area) – Princess Oba Folasade, Special Adviser to Gov Ambode on Security & Intelligence – Hon. A.A. Ajanaku, members of Ambode Mandate Support Group, Vice President (CAPDAN) – Mr. Boniface Ania, invited dignitaries and members of the coalition.

Highpoint of the conference was the presentation of the endorsement plaque by CLEP to Gov Akinwunmi Ambode. The plaque was received on behalf of the governor by Engr. Adekunle Olayinka (Director, Ambode Mandate Support Group).

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, Engr. Adekunle Olayinka said that the level of endorsement is unprecedented in the history of governance in the state and thanked the coalition on behalf of the governor for their support.
