Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs; Wasiu Anifowoshe, and the Body of Sole Administrators of local councils otherwise known as Conference 57 have endorsed the Intercontinental Wrestle Force Championship which holds from 4-18 December, 2016.

The endorsement and support are coming after the Local Organising Committee (LOC) headed by Otunba Dengel Anifowoshe paid a visit to the Executives of Conference 57 while they were having a meeting with the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs in his office at Alausa in Ikeja.

The Commissioner commended the vision behind the international wrestling competition which is being staged to celebrate the achievements of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos State.  He said the Governor has done so much and organing a tournament of international repute in his honour is not too much.

“This is a laudable event that we must join hands to ensure its success. I want to assure the LOC of the support of my ministry and myself. It is good to celebrate our Governor who is an achiever and somebody who is committed to serve humanity with passion, ” the Commissioner said.

The Chairman of Conference 57, Mr. Sanya Osijo, who is also the Sole Administrator of Bariga Local Council Development Association (LCDA) said the Body of Sole Administrators in Lagos State would support the competition both morally and financially even with the dwindling resources at their disposal.

“I will get back to other members of Conference 57 to see how we can mobilise ourselves to support this laudable project. We feel honoured to be called upon by the LOC and we believe the championship will be a success, ” he said.

Chairman of the LOC, Otunba Dengel Anifowoshe has earlier called for the support of the Commissioner for Local Government and Conference 57 to give his Committee a support as they organise the Wrestle Force Championship. He said that Governor Ambode has won the heart of many Lagosians with laudable achievements within a short period of time he assumed office.

He disclosed that Lagos will be the focus of the world during the two weeks when world professional wrestlers will be in town for the competition, adding that the Governor himself has graciously giving the go-ahead for what the LOC is doing.

Other members of the executive of Conference 57 who received the LOC members at the Commissioner’s office included the Vice Chairman of Conference 57, Engr Taiwo Abiodun from Ikeja Local Government, Secretary from Orile Agege LCDA, James Agboola, Honourable William Lawanson from Somolu Local Government, who is the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Hon. Oshikoya Abimbola, the Sole Administrator of Isolo LCDA, who is the Financial Secretary of Conference 57.
