Comrade Dauda Meets With Management Team & Members Of Staff Of Ikeja Local Government

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today met with the management team and members of staff of the Council in a vibrant session held at the Secretariat’s main hall.

The meeting, coordinated by the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko, ably represented by the Head of Administration and Human Resources, Comrade Jubril Aliu, had in attendance Heads of Departments, Units, Directors, Area Officers, and staff members who turned out in large numbers to officially welcome the Chairman and express solidarity with him.

The Council Chairman, a fellow Comrade, was warmly received with solidarity and union songs, reflecting the cordial relationship between the workforce and his administration.

 

In her address delivered through her representative, Mrs. Odubeko commended the Chairman for his proactive leadership style and collaborative spirit within his first few days in office, describing it as a promising signal of greater achievements ahead for Ikeja Local Government.

The President of NULGE, Ikeja Chapter, Comrade Emiabata, presented twelve key requests to the Chairman, centered on the improved welfare of staff. He stressed that addressing these requests would enhance efficiency and dedication. He also pledged the cooperation and accountability of union members, expressing confidence in the AKOD-led administration’s commitment to delivering the I.K.E.J.A Agenda; Making Governance Work for All.

 

Responding, the Ikeja Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda, assured that staff welfare remains a priority, but emphasized that its realization depends on improved revenue generation. He called for synergy between the management, staff, and the executive arm to boost internally generated revenue.

He further underscored the importance of accountability, continuous training, and capacity building for staff to meet emerging challenges. He urged them to be innovative and contribute fresh ideas capable of repositioning Ikeja Local Government into a model corporate entity.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Comrade Jubril Aliu, while the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore (Omituntun), was also in attendance.

 

This engagement reaffirmed the strong partnership between the workforce and the Executive Chairman, a collaboration that promises greater efficiency, tangible results, and Better Days for the people of Ikeja.
