Comrade Dauda Receives Veteran Actor Prince Jide Kosoko In Audience

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today received veteran Nollywood actor and cultural icon, Jide Kosoko, in his Ikeja House office for a productive discussion on the growth and development of the arts and entertainment sector in the local government area.

Prince Jide Kosoko, a respected figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, has over the years distinguished himself not only through his remarkable contributions to film and theatre but also through his dedication to nurturing many young thespians who have gone on to achieve greatness in the creative industry.

During the meeting, Comrade Dauda and the veteran actor explored ways through which arts, culture and entertainment can be further developed in Ikeja, particularly by creating platforms that will support emerging talents and strengthen the creative economy. The discussions also focused on possible areas of collaboration and partnership between the local government and key stakeholders in the entertainment industry to promote cultural activities and provide opportunities for young creatives.

 

The Council Chairman noted that Ikeja, being a vibrant and cosmopolitan hub, holds great potential for creative expression and cultural tourism. He emphasized that the local government is committed to initiatives that will encourage artistic development, youth engagement and the promotion of cultural heritage within the community.

Prince Kosoko, in his remarks, commended the Chairman for his forward-thinking approach and his interest in leveraging the arts and entertainment sector as a tool for youth empowerment and community development.

Also present at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Chief Adeyi Adeniyi; the Head of Department, Tourism Department, Ikeja Local Government, Mrs. Temitope Awolusi and one of the newly sworn-in Supervisors, Mr. Tayo Aderinola.

 

The engagement marks another step in the AKOD administration’s efforts to foster strategic partnerships that will promote creativity, cultural development and economic opportunities for residents of Ikeja.
