The administration of the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has announced the postponement of activities earlier scheduled to mark his first 100 days in office, originally due on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

According to a statement from Ikeja House, all commemorative events and celebration activities will now hold during the 100 working days in office, which falls on Sunday, December 14, 2025. The celebration will span a week-long series of engagements and events designed to reflect the vision and spirit of the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA.

Speaking on the development, the Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda, explained that the decision to shift the celebration was guided by thoughtful consideration of ongoing infrastructural works and the need to ensure that projects being executed across the Local Government area are completed to standard before public presentation.

“Our administration believes in impact over optics. While we have recorded notable progress in the last 100 days, many of our infrastructural projects are still ongoing due to the prevailing weather conditions. We prefer to celebrate when those projects are completed and delivering value to our people,” Comrade Dauda said.

The Executive Chairman further emphasized that his administration remains committed to touching every sector and every facet of human life in Ikeja, in line with his people-centered governance philosophy.

“The I.K.E.J.A AGENDA is not a slogan; it is a living vision designed to transform Ikeja and improve the quality of life for every resident. We are deliberate, strategic, and passionate about building a model local government that works for all,” he added.

While expressing deep appreciation to the people of Ikeja for their overwhelming support since his assumption of office, Comrade Dauda reassured residents of his unwavering commitment to good governance, inclusivity, and sustainable development.

“I am sincerely grateful to the good people of Ikeja for their trust, encouragement, and cooperation. I assure you that we will not relent until the dreams and aspirations of our people are turned into reality. The journey has just begun and I can confidently say that better days are here,” he affirmed.

The statement concluded that the AKOD-led administration is already setting the pace in transformative leadership and that the forthcoming 100 Working Days Celebration will provide an opportunity to reflect on progress, unveil completed projects, and engage with stakeholders on the next phase of developmental strides.
