Council Boss Applauds Sanwo-Olu On OCAAT Initiative

The Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Mr. Abdullai Sesan Olowa, has applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the ‘One Community At A Time’ (OCAAT) initiative spearheaded by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

Oluwa gave the commendation during the visit of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs. Folashade Jaji, to Taluko, an underserved community in Ibeju Lekki, stressing that the present administration is committed to ensuring a habitable and healthy environment for Lagos residents through the laudable initiative.

He revealed that he had visited several other communities in the area since his assumption of office, thanking the SSG for being the one to bring him to Taluko Community, which he was yet to visit.

The Chairman disclosed that the Lagos State Government has done great things with the OCAAT initiative and expressed the Council’s readiness to complement the present administration’s efforts to improve the standard of living of Taluko Community residents.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs. Folashade Jaji, remarked that the OCAAT initiative is part of the developmental strategies of the State Government to achieve an all-inclusive Greater Lagos, through the gradual improvement of communities in the State.

She added that the improvements are geared towards elevating the standard of living of residents by the provision of basic social amenities and infrastructure that will boost their quality of life, noting that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is working assiduously to realise the Greater Lagos vision for all.

Her words: “The initiative was designed to bring integrated development to underserved communities in the areas of sanitation, health, education and recreation, while also giving preference to the immediate needs of the communities as requested during several community engagements”.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Taluko Community Development Association (CDA), Mr. Adewale Agbabiaka, said he is elated with OCAAT’s intervention in Taluko, noting that it will go a long way to develop the community’s infrastructure.

Mrs. Jaji had earlier visited Ajido and Isalu Communities in Badagry Local Government Areas and Ikegun Community in Lekki Local Council Development Area, among others, for similar purposes.
