Apex Council of Ndieze has endorsed amiable and charismatic Igbo leader, Eze Chika C. Nwokedi, for the vacant position of Ezendigbo in Lagos State following the demise of Late Hyacinth Ohazuruike.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was the outcome of the Council’s meeting held on 11th October, 2025, in Lagos State, in which they gave him the go ahead to occupy the position in recognition of his impeachable character and integrity.
By the endorsement of over 40 members of the Council, cut across the LCDA in the State, the coast is now clear for Eze Nwokedi to replace Late Ohazuruike as Ezendigbo, Lagos State. The endorsement was overwhelmingly  supported by majority of Ndigbo in Lagos State, who described Eze Chika Nwokedi as super philanthropist and true lover of Ndigbo over the years.
The endorsement of Eze Nwokedi may have dwarfed some Ezendigbo, whose supporters have been clamouring for them to contest for the position through subtle campaigns.
So far, Eze Chris Offia, Eze Alex Nwoye, Eze Fredrick Nwajagu and Eze Chukwuakalikamadu Emmanuel have all declined and thanked their supporters who have nominated them to contest for the position because of their leadersip qualities.
They also assured their full support to anyone that will emerge after the mourning period of Late Ohazuruike.
The implication of the endorsement means Eze Chika Nwokedi may have already secured support from Eze Nwoye, Offia, Nwajagu and Chukwuakalikamadu.
It is not yet confirmed if Eze Nwokedi will accept or not and he has declined to make any comment over the endorsement by the Council of Ndieze, Lagos State.
Eze Chika Nwokedi, also known as Okpoko one of Obodoukwu town in Imo State, is a household name in recognition of his exemplary leadership, cultural preservation, and unwavering commitment to peace and humanitarian service.
As Chairman of the Council of Ndi Eze Igbo in Lagos State, he has demonstrated wisdom, vision, and dedication in uniting people, promoting Igbo heritage, and advancing socio-economic development. His leadership at Ladipo Market and through the Ndi Igbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria has strengthened communities, empowered generations, and fostered harmony across cultural and social divides.
He has been bestowed with numerous honours as a testament to his enduring legacy as a royal father, cultural advocate, and humanitarian leader, reflecting the values of dignity, compassion and service to humanity.
Recently, Eze Chika Nwokedi demonstrated that he is a man peace by working assiduously with key stakeholders in restoring peace in the Igbo Speaking Community of Lagos after several years of protracted crises between warring factions. He has touched many lives and brought succour to the less privileged in the society over the years. An aggressive giver,  the widows and the less privileged people in the society have benefited immensely from Eze Okpoko Foundation, which he founded to assist the poor and vulnerable people in the society.
Probably by Divine providence, Eze Chika Nwokedi may have been called to higher service as Ezendigbo, Lagos State, to continue what he knows how to do best  through the endorsement of Ezendigbo Gburugburu in Lagos State.
