Council Of Ndieze Submits List Of Authentic Ezendigbo To Lagos CP As It Partners With Nigeria Police On Security

The Council of Ndieze a.k.a Ezendigbo Lagos State led by their amiable Chairman, Eze Chika Nwokedi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, to partner with the Nigeria Police on security.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ezendigbo embarked on the visit on 14th June, 2024, to the Police headquarters in Ikeja, where they pledged their support to CP Adegoke on his efforts in curbing crimes in the State. They as well submitted the names of authentic Ezendigbo in the various LCDAs in the State crowned by the Igbo Speaking Community.
Those who visited the Police boss at the Command headquarters in Ikeja included Eze Nwokedi and the executive members of Council of Ndieze including members of the group from the LCDAs, the president of Igbo Speaking community, Lagos State, Chief Sunday Udeh and General Secretary, Engr. Chukwuma Odimegwu and others.
Eze Nwokedi stated that the visit was made to synergize with the Police in a bid to promote security in the state and foster cordial relationships by familiarising themselves with CP Adegoke Fayoade and the Police.
Those in attendance were the the Chairman,  Eze Chika Nwokedi, Chief Sunday Udeh, Eze Ferdinand Aguneke, Gen. Secretary Council of Ndieze Lagos, Eze Charles Emesim, Eze Uche Omeiheoma, Eze John Nwoche, Eze Stephen Agabiga, Eze Emeka Onuoha,  Eze E. Chukwukadibia, Eze Chukwuakalika Emmanuel, Eze Justice Enujuba, Eze Ifeanyi Nwagwu, Engr. Chukwuka Odimegwu, Secretary General of the Igbo-speaking community in Lagos among others.
Eze Nwokedi appreciated the presence of the Commissioner of Police for recognising the value of Igbo leaders in Lagos State, which prompted the visit and the Igbo leaders in attendance were delighted to meet with the CP to discuss security matters and described him as a detribalized Nigerian.
CP Adegoke Fayoade, in his speech, appreciated the chairman of the council of ‘Ndi Ezes’ in Lagos, Eze Nwokedi, for coordinating the convergence of the meeting, as he also appreciated Ndieze in attendance.
He urged them to work towards unity, regardless of tribal differences as everyone should focus on creating a good society, especially by promoting security in the state.
The CP noted that his career as a Police officer started in Aba, revealing that his experience has led him to understand that the Easterners are welcoming and accommodating with no form of discrimination, irrespective of tribal differences. He noted that Ndigbo are known for their hard work and have contributed so much to the progress of the country.
 CP Adegoke Fayoade enjoined Ndigbo as represented by Ndieze to work with Police to fight crime and criminality in State for the benefit of all living in the State.
He also urged Igbo leaders to be proactive by giving viable information about criminal elements in their immediate and business environs in synergy with the Police, for all tip-offs will be treated as confidential.
Fayoade explained that the Police might not be able to reach out to all the nooks and crannies in Lagos, but as traditional leaders, a collaboration to promote security will decrease the spate of crime and criminality in the state as criminal elements will be forced to relocate as they do not want to be caught.
The CP thanked the Ezendigbo for their readiness to work with the Police by giving discreet information to rid the state of crime, which will aid economic activities without fear of insecurity.
“Buying and selling will improve, and enterprises will expand when the area is free of criminal elements” he said.
He pledged to support and cooperate with Igbo traditional leaders in Lagos.
Eze Nwokedi commended the CP for showing solidarity with Igbo leaders as he advised on matters traditional rulers can handle, which include civil matters and humanitarian services, not criminal issues.
He advised the Igbo leaders to support the Nigeria Police Force, especially those in their jurisdictions including the Divisional Police Officers, Area Commanders and Commissioner of Police to ease policing.
Eze Chika also urged Ndieze to ensure security in their areas of leadership by reporting criminal acts of persons suspected of breaching the law. He warned that the Igbo leaders should not misuse the opportunity of the meeting with the CP to commit atrocities as such leaders will be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly.
He urged CP Adegoke to investigate when matters of Ndieze are reported as he explained that some issues reported about Ndieze are fabricated or blown out of proportion.
The President of the Igbo Speaking community, Chief Sunday Udeh, congratulated CP Adegoke on his appointment as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State. He assured him through his congratulatory letter, that Ndigbo spread across the 57 Local Councils in Lagos will continue to support his  service to humanity.
