CP Hakeem Odumosu Tightens Security In Lagos

The residents of Ikorodu area of Lagos have not known peace following the rumours of possible armed robbery attacks, which have caused panic in the area during this Yuletide period.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that in response, the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi and other operational heads to relocate and fortify the area against possible attacks. 

The joint patrol team to join RSS are other operational units including Mobile Police Force, State Intelligence Bureau and CP Monitoring Unit. 

To further strengthen the team, the Commander, Area “N” Command, Ijede and all the Divisional Police Officers in Ikorodu and their operatives are to join in the operation. 

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who made the disclosure to journalists on Friday.

It read: “In order to be proactive and fortify security in Ikorodu and its environs following the speculations or threats of robbery attacks on the residents of Ikorodu, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the Commander RRS, CSP Saheed Egbeyemi and other operational units, including Mobile Police Force, State Intelligence Bureau, CP Monitring Unit, to relocate to Ikorudu.
The operation also involves the Area Commander, Area N, Ijede and all the Divisional Police Officers and their operatives in Ikorodu”.

It will be recalled that recently there were speculations that robbers were planning to lay siege and attack the residents of Ikorodu and its environs. Premised on the speculations, CP Hakeem Odumosu, swung into action and re-strategised towards providing adequate security in Ikorodu and other parts of the state. 


While felicitating with Lagosians on Christmas celebration, he appealed to the general public to abide by the laws of the land and observe COVID-19 preventive protocols during and beyond the seasons.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the rumour of possible attacks spread like wild fire to the extent some residents were said to have relocated to other areas before the information got to the Police, who responded to protect the area over any possible attack.
