Onigbongbo Council Vice Chairman and Councillors boycott town hall meeting and empowerment by the Council Chairman, Hon. Dotun Olakanle.

Sources told PMEXPRESS that the lawmakers’ action was a protest against Hon. Olakanle’s alleged shrouded use of council resources, lack of transparency, divisive approach to council- constituent matters and his non availability to constituents yearnings.

The council Chairman had during the week invited all councillors to his empowerment meeting which held on Thursday 10 February at the Onigbongbo Council headquarters.

Prominent among the absentees are the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Rakiya; House leader of Onigbongbo Legislative Arm, Hon. Kayode Opayemi and his deputy; majority leader; chief whip among others.

One of the house leaders told our correspondent that the councillors have unanimously agreed to boycott the council Chairman’s program they perceived to be a white elephant project.

Also notably absent at the empowerment program were the GAC Leader of Onigbongbo LCDA, Dr. Yomi Finnih; the Chief of Staff to Lagos State governor, Hon. Tayo Ayinde; former national legal officer of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Babatunde Ogala and a host of other party leaders.
