CSP Oyin Frances SOA Wins Another International Performance Award

It was Thomas Hausers who said being a good Police officer is one of the most difficult, dangerous and idealistic jobs in the world. It is very demanding, as their work demands that they be permanently on call. Some officers may have performed badly, but there are good number of Police officers, who have performed their duty with diligence, passion and dedication. CSP Oyinpreyobofa Frances SOA is a typical example of such officers with the popular saying hard work always pays.

CSP Oyinpreyobofa Francess  SOA recently received another International performance award by an organization known as Universal Chaplain Corps & Rescue Mission, UCCRM, following a letter they wrote to the IGP, who approved and directed Oyin to attend.

The award was given to her during the group’s 2021 International Conference held on Thursday 22nd July, 2021, at St. Anthony Event Centre, Liasu Road, Council Bus Stop, Egbe-Idimu, Lagos, where CSP Oyin was also the Guest Speaker on the “Role of Community in Reducing Crime In Society”. 

Three days later, few friends celebrated the international award with her on 25th July, 2021, at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja area of Lagos.

The President of the association, Dr. Tunde O. Bankole, while presenting the award, noted that Oyin, as she is popularly known, has performed creditably well in discharging her duty as a Senior Police officer and was worthy of the award.

It was not the first time CSP Oyin had received an International award and several other awards in Nigeria. She was among the top 50 personalities honoured during the Lagos at 50 celebration. She has also received the prestigious Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria Award several times for excellent performances in crime busting in Nigeria.

Oyin, Nee Nemisinghan, is one of the Police officers worthy to be mentioned for positively repositioning the image of the Nigeria Police. She is currently serving as the  Officer in Charge of Human Rights at SCID, Panti, Yaba, and had worked as DPO at MAN Centre, Ago Okota and Aswani, using strategic management known as Community policing to combat crimes.

CSP Oyinpreyebofa Frances SOA is a graduate of Sociology and holds a Masters Degree, MILR, Industrial Labour Relations, both at Delta State University, Abraka. She enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet (ASP) Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2002. She, like many others, were trained at the Police Academy, Wudil Kano, before she was posted to Enugu State. She passed out in 2004 from the Academy.

She has also attended several courses and conferences both at home and abroad. She is a member of (IACP) International Association of Chiefs of Police and also a member of International Association of Women Police (IAWP). She was a one-time (PRO) Public Relations Officer of POWA and presently the Social Secretary of POWA, Lagos State Chapter. Oyin was also a one-time Secretary to the famous Baptist Girls High School Agbor, Old Girls Association, Lagos State Chapter and presently their Security Adviser.
She has worked in various states and departments of the Police Force. She was OC JWC, Uwani Division, Enugu, DCO Gwagwaruwa Division, Kano, AO Fillinhuki Division, Kano, DTO Man Centre Division, DCO Man Centre Division, AO Ikeja Division, DCO Ikeja Division, Acting DPO Ikeja Division, DPO MAN Centre. She was 2ic Area West and Acting Commander Area West, Airport Police Command, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Isolo Okota Division and later moved to Ago Palace, Okota as DPO, She was transferred to Lion Building area ‘A’ Command as 2ic area commander and later moved to Aswani Division before her present position at SCID, Panti, Yaba. Lagos.

Oyin has won numerous awards as a Police Officer. Due to her kind heartedness, she was honoured with the title Ezinne (Good Mother) by C.W.O. Our Lady of Fatima Cathedral, Kano, in the year 2009. She was among the 50 recipients that got honoured by the Lagos State Government at the Lagos@50 Hall of Fame Awards as a Peace Ambassador.


Other awards Oyin has received included:– Best Media Friendly Police Officer of the Year Award by Rainbow Event Magazine
– Most People Friendly Police Officer in Nigeria, courtesy of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN)
– Most Outstanding Police Officer of the Year by MOPO
– Pragmatic Leadership Awards by Zenith International Magazine among other awards.

CSP Oyin is a passionate smart officer and a lover of peace with a special gift in conflict resolution. Testimonies abound how she has helped solved disputes which would have ordinarily ended up in Court as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Officer. She has equally taken serious criminal cases and pursued them to logical conclusions and even with that her simplicity cannot be taken for granted. 
She is presently the Social Director – POWA; working with the wife of CP, Alhaja N.O. Odumosu, who is the chairperson of POWA.
Recently, CSP Oyin Francess received International awards and chieftaincy title in far away Ghana for her courage, passion and commitment to save lives and serve humanity by singularly averting ethnic crises during 2019 election in Okota area of Lagos, when she was DPO, Okota Division.

The International award for selfless service and chieftaincy title as Nne Udo Ndi Igbo na Ghana – meaning Mother of Peace, was significant because of the circumstances that led to the recognition.

CSP Oyin has received many awards over the years for her feat and professionalism which included Echo Nigeria International award of patriotism in the Federal Capital city, Abuja, D Elite Award for outstanding DPO of the year 2019, most outstanding DPO in community policing in 2019 by The New Experience Media organization and many others.

The feat Oyin Francess achieved during the 2019 election by averting ethnic crises in Ago Okota, Lagos have continue to attract recognition by groups and individuals in 2020. Recently, Igbo Community in Lagos conferred Oyin as Ocho Udo Ndigbo in Lagos State by the traditional ruler and Ezendigbo, Lagos State, Eze Christian Nwachukwu, during the New Yam Festival for 2020.

CSP Oyin was among the recipient of Doctor of Arts Award Honor, (D Arts) by the European American University Commonwealth of Dominican Africa Regional Operation. The event took place on Saturday 18th July, 2020 at NECA House, Hakeem Balogun Way, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos.


The coordinator in Nigeria, Dr J.C.Egbuta while given the award said that Dr Oyin was found worthy in character and was recognized for her contributions to economic, political and social welfare of the society. 


CSP Oyin will always be remembered for her kindness, for the first time in the history of the Lagos State Police Command, a Woman Police officer, distributed palliatives to over 1,500 families within Ikeja, Aswani, Okota and Isolo areas of Lagos State, to cushion the impact of the gradual ease of lockdown and about 200 widows.


In addition, cooked food was also distributed to family members who throng out of their apartments to have their share.The initiative code-named COVID-19 Outreach by CSP Oyin, was to extend a hand of help to widows and underprivileged families who were most affected by the situation.


Some of the VIPs, who attended the event where CSP Oyin was given the recent International award for performance included: His Grace, Baba Aladura Jide Israel Fatoyinbo (JP), Lagos State Commandant, Nigerian Security & Civil Defense Corps, Dr. Charles Louis (from Enugu), Ambassador Funke Adegunwa (from USA), Dr. Emmanuel Babalola JP (President, Supreme Council of Nigeria Chaplains), Professor Samuel Godwin, Ambassador Dr. James Mercy, DPO, Idimu Police Station, Barr. Femi Falana SAN, and ACP Taiwo Kasumu.
