Cultural Centre Partners Unical, UniCross To Promote Culture

There is synergy between the Calabar Cultural Centre and the University of Calabar and the University of Cross River State, says the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ben Ayade on Cultural Centre, Victor Ita.

He made this known at the weekend in Calabar while speaking about the new-look Cultural Centre that emerged after his appointment in April last year.

“The synergy is to promote culture across the the state,” he said, adding that the centre is now the ideal multi-purpose events place, with 1,500 capacity auditorium among other facilities.

With the looting and destruction of the Calabar International Conference Centre and Tinapa during the #EndSARS protest, most events planners now turn to Cultural Centre, which he said is next to the National Arts Theatre in Lagos in terms of facilities, making it “a melting pot of arts and craft in the state.”

Ita said the magic behind the new-look Cultural Centre is the outcome of the partnership with Peniel Network Investment Ltd which carried out the renovation that now makes it possible to host international and national events.

Speaking, the Director of Peniel, Azubike Jibunoh, said that his organisation was still investing more in the centre to turn it into a world class entertainment hub.
