DCP Fayoade Adegoke Receives Prestigious CRAN Performance Award In Grand Style

Amid pomp and pageantry cum emotional atmosphere at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, the amiable Deputy Commissioner of Police of the SCID, Panti, Yaba, DCP Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, received the prestigious Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria award for excellent performance in crime busting in grand style.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that it did not come as a surprise to many present because DCP Adegoke is a typical example of a senior Police officer with wealth of experience, intelligence and super strategy in the job of policing. So the honour is a pat on the back for what DCP Adegoke is effectively doing at SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

Lagos residents are testifying they can now sleep with their two eyes closed and there is relative peace in the State, thanks to the efforts of DCP Adegoke and his team. He brought his intelligence and capacity to lead to bear by mobilizing his officers and the stakeholders in the State by application of intelligence and innovative community policing strategies. He employed modern community policing approach by partnering with the stakeholders comprising the traditional rulers, leaders, youths, eminent personalities in the area and built a common synergy to combat crime in Lagos State.

DCP Adegoke, popularly known as Master Strategist, is a very rugged and proactive officer. He is a very seasoned, humble, hardworking and honest Police Officer, who is highly dedicated to the course of the public safety for prevention of crimes and criminality in Nigeria.

No Wonder there was a very loud standing ovation during the CRAN award when his name was mentioned for 2021 merit award.

This sporadic and passionate crime buster was born on 28th October, 1966, from a humble and disciplined home. 

DCP Fayoade Adegoke is an avowed believer in community policing, a strategy of policing, which earned him the award of the most community friendly Police Station in Africa. This is an award that was bestowed on him by the Altus Global Foundation in The Hague, Netherlands, the award rated him as one of the best five in the world.

He was enlisted in the Nigerian Police Force as a Cadet Officer on 18th May, 1992 and have served in various departments such as Operations, Administration, Investigation and Training. 

DCP Adegoke holds of Bachelor of Arts B.A (Ed) Hons. History and Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Lagos State University and University of Lagos, Akoka respectively. 

To further broaden the scope of his policing career, DCP Fayoade also studied hard and grabbed a Diploma in Police Science and was in John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, United States of America from 1998 to 1999.
He is aware of the security challenges in Nigeria and believes it should be tackled from all angles and with all vigorous approach. Therefore, he enriched himself more in knowlege by attending several other courses like Community Policing Course for Divisional Managers at Staff College, Jaji in 2013 and the Strategic and Leadership Course in 2018.  

DCP Fayoade was involved in Adopting the Community Oriented Policing Ethos in Training Academies, The United States’ Institute of Peace Washington DC USA in 2015, Leveraging International Police Co-operation Organization for Countering Violence Extraction and Assessing Police Capacity for Community Policing to Counter Violence Extremisms in 2015 and Institutionalizing Community Policing for Countering Violent Extremisms from Policing to Practice in Abu-Dhabi, UAE in 2014.

All these tremendous and magnificent courses coupled with international exposures have propelled DCP Fayoade Mustapha to become a terror on the neck of criminals in all Commands and Stations he served and still serving today. 
For instance, immediately he took over the control of the SCID Panti, DCP Fayoade has led teams of his fellow gallant men to several criminal scenes and busted the perpetrators. Little wonder because he has done this practically in all his former abodes like while serving as the Divisional Police Officer in Ilupeju Police Station, Lagos where he bagged the Hague award, he ensured that crimes are brutally combated and exterminated from Ilupeju area attaching his intelligence and international knowledge to curtail all crimes in the area and was very dedicated to duty while serving as the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the former Osun State Governor from 1999 to 2003 and also as Commandant Police Training School in Oyin Akoko, Ondo State. Even when he was elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police in 2014, he ensured he gave it all his best to prove his loyalty and gallantry. 

While serving as the Area Commander, Ota Area Command, DCP Fayoade Mustapha made sure that all acts of crimes and all shades of criminalities were wiped out. He gave a notice to those who wants to perpetrate crimes that Ota is not a base for them, better they relocate elsewhere. The no-nonsense, aggressive but friendly Police officer also served as DC Admin. Maritime Command Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, DC ‘A’ Zone 2 Headquarters Onikan, Lagos. 

Today, lovers of security in Lagos State are proud to have DCP Adegoke as the DC, SCID  Panti, Lagos, where he is ensuring that crimes and criminalties are passionately fought to a standstill and at the same time, he has boosted  the image of the Force in the eyes of the public.

 DCP Adegoke has won several awards aside the one from Altus Global Foundation in The Hague. They are Junior Chamber International, Lagos Metropolitan Award of Excellence for outstanding dedication to duty, Commendation Award for Excellence presented by Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Ilupeju Lagos, Best Human Rights Compliant Award presented to him by Crime Victim Foundation in 2011, Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria Meritorious Award in Crime Fighting, Institute of Security Nigeria Fellowship Award, National Award and second time winner as the Best DPO in Nigeria and Africa by Kleen Foundation and Altus Global Alliance presented in Nairobi, Kenya and Commendation Award for Excellence and Outstanding Performance from the then Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN as the DPO Victoria Island  Lagos in 2013, Distinguished Service Award by Oto-Awori Community in 2019 among others.
