De-Flooding: Lagos State Govt To Divert Traffic At Metal Box Ogba To Install Concrete Culvert

Posted on June 27, 2022

The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion to install a precast concrete culvert across Metal Box Road, from Tuesday 28th June till Tuesday 5th July, 2022, as part of measures to address flooding along Oba Ogunji Road in Ogba.

Explaining the diversion plan, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, stated that the diversion was necessary to provide lasting solutions to the flooding issues on some roads in the metropolis.

Oladeinde advised motorists in the mentioned construction area to utilise Acme Road, Wempco, Akilo and Ijaiye Roads to connect their desired destinations, stressing that only Metal Box Road will be barricaded from traffic.

While affirming that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be available to manage movement and minimise inconveniences, the Commissioner called for more understanding as the current weather conditions had necessitated such steps.
