This may not be the best of times for the founder and General overseer of Kingdom Power International Christian Praying Center, Pastor Azuka Ohez, over alleged plan by a Deeper Life Church Pastor, Emmanuel Iheagwazi, to eliminate him, his family and equally close down the church over his wife’s offering worth millions of Naira, which was paid to the church in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Pastor Iheagwazi’s wife, dumped Deeper Life Church and joined Prophet Ohez’s church located at Oluwatedo Street, Isashi area of Lagos and reportedly paid tithes and offering worth millions of Naira.
When Pastor Iheagwazi, who is the shepherd of Deeper Life Church in Sokoto State, later discovered that his wife has left his church and joined Ohez’s church, where she reportedly received miracle and healing.
To show gratitude to God, the wife was said to have given the huge amount of money to the church and attracted some members of their family including Chidiebere Iheagwazi, Chinasa Luke (nee Iheagwazi) and Chijioke Eze, who Pastor Iheagwazi was said to be using the against Prophet Ohez. Other members of Pastor Iheagwazi’s family also made huge donations to the church in appreciation for the blessing they received from God through the church.
Pastor Iheagwazi was alleged to be using operatives of the Nigeria Police to recover all the offering money worth over N100m paid to the church’s account as a corporate entity and possibly eliminate Prophet Ohez.
Following the alleged threat to life, Ohez raised alarm in a petition dated 15th September, 2023, to the Inspector General of Police seeking for the intervention of the IGP on the matter.
The embattled Ohez stated that he cannot be watching until he is eliminated by Pastor Iheagwazi despite the fact that Iheagwazi has stopped his wife from attending the church.
In the petition by Ohez written through the chamber of Barrister Okwudiri Alagbu to the IGP, he stated that Pastor Iheagwazi of the Deeper Life Church in Sokoto State, who is doing business in Lagos State, was in a desperate move to eliminate him and close down his church. He was said to have hired members of his family including his wife and elderly mother falsely and used them against their wishes, initiated petition which led to the malicious prosecution of Pastor Ohez in the Magistrate Court in Lagos and Anambra States.
Pastor Ohez alleged that Iheagwazi plotted to use his detention in order to eliminate him through torture and poisoning, which failed as he had allegedly planned to use his Sokoto State based younger brother, Chidiebere Iheagwazi and sister, Chinasa Luke including his servant, Chijioke Ezeh, to initiate his arrest in order to eliminate him.
“The war of attrition by Emmanuel Iheagwazi started on 21st March, 2023, when he invaded Ohez’s church during worship with combined team of Policemen and armed horde of trigger happy private army said to be his personal body guards.”
“He manhandled Ohez, wife and other members of the church; tortured them and caused violence in order to instill fear and discourage them from coming to the church.”
Pastor Iheagwazi also staged a protest in the neighbourhood using placards with inscriptions,” Prophet Azuka is a false prophet” and destroyed the corporate image of the church and his reputation and later arrested him, the wife and five other members and detained them for four days but was not able to get any evidence against them. Thus, the Police released them on bail at SCID, Yaba, Lagos.
Again, he went to Zone 2 Onikan and wrote another petition and Ohez was arrested and charged before Igbosere Magistrate Court. But the Magistrates refused to keep him in custody because there was no evidence. He was therefor, granted bail and was released from custody after 10 days.
Pastor Iheagwazi went again to FCID, arrested the Ohez and detained him in Abuja. But he was granted bail and he moved to Anambra State. There he used the Area Commander in Ihiala town, came to Lagos, arrested him and subsequently he was charged before the Magistrate Court and remanded in custody for several days in Anambra State.
At that point, the Presiding Magistrate in charge of the matter gave stringent bail conditions, which included that it was only the President General and General Secretary of Okija Town Union that can only stand as surety for him in the whole Anambra State.
“In a desperation to destroy Prophet Ohez, Iheagwazi while investigation was still going on at the Police Force Headquarters, went and forged the IGP’s investigation report and claimed that it was the IGP’s directives but the investigation team from the IGP disowned and denied the report, which bore no Police letterhead paper.”
