DIG Egbunike Laid To Rest

Late Deputy Inspector General of Police, Joseph Obiajulu Egbunike, was on Saturday, May 21, 2022, laid to rest at his hometown, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The Inspector-General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, was duly represented at the event by DIG John Ogbonnaya Amadi, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Research and Planning.

It will be recalled that DIG Egbunike died in March at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness.


Before he passed on in March, Egbunike was in charge of the Nigerian Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB).
Prior to his appointment as DIG in 2020, Egbunike was the Head of the Police Finance Department and also served previously as the DIG overseeing the South East Geo-political zone of the country.
