The outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara, has debunked the news making the rounds in the media space where he was purported to have responded to comments by President Muhammadu Buhari over lack of legislative cooperation from the leaders of the National Assembly.

In a reaction to the publication by different media houses, Turaki Hassan, Special Adviser (Media & Public Affairs) to the Honourable Speaker said, “It has come to our attention that a fake statement credited to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives purportedly responding to comments made by President Muhammadu Buhari on the 8th Assembly in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority  on Monday May 27, 2019, is being circulated and published in some news portals”.

“The said statement which was said to have been issued on Tuesday May 28, 2019, did not emanate from the Speaker,  Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, and should be totally disregarded” he declared.
