Double Celebration: Hon Julius Oloro Marks 500 Days In Office, Celebrates Birthday

Ojodu LCDA, one of the Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State witnessed lots of activities in a weeklong celebration of the achievements of Hon Julius Oloro as he marked his 500 days in office. The activities slated to mark the milestone achievements coincided with the birthday celebration of the Council Boss on Tuesday November 20.

Hon. Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro has demonstrated that democracy is working in Ojodu LCDA and there are records of success stories for a man with great courage and wisdom. From every perceptive and comparative analysis, Hon. Oloro never hides his desire to deliver the dividends of democracy with respect for diversity, equity and justice to the people of Ojodu LCDA.

To mark his 500 days in office and in practical demonstration of his consultative and leadership proofs, Hon. Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro on November 15, 2018, inspected several projects ongoing at different locations within the LCDA to ascertain their level of completion.

The Executive Chairman officially inspected the construction of the drainage at Celestial Avenue, Adeyemi Alao extended to Ondo Street and the construction of drainage/roads at Anipupo Street.

Hon.Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro accompanied by his Vice, the Honourable Councillors/Supervisors also inspected the ICT centre at Shogunro Ogba, the vocational training center at Oluwole and the ongoing electricity project at Erin-osho Street Aguda.

The Chairman rounded up the tour of his inspection in (Jumat) prayer session with the Muslim faithfuls at Central Mosque, Ologun Street, Oke Ira. The Council boss also used the prayer session to thank Allah for sustaining his administration and promised to ensure religious tolerance, quality infrastructural development as part of the dividends of democracy and his electoral promises to the Ojodu community.

Hon Julius Oloro highlighted that the LCDA has been able to execute the following projects in the last 500 days in office:

1) Construction of Road and Drainage at Erinosho Street.
2) Construction of Oke Ira  Primary School
3) Distribution of Exercise Books, Desks, Benches and Mathematical Sets to schools
4) Construction of ICT Centre at Shogunro Ogba
5) Free Medical Screening Exercise
6) Construction Drainage at Celestial Avenue, Oke Ira
7) Construction of Vocational Training Center Shogunro Ogba
8) Construction of Drainage at Ayodele Ariyo Street
9) Construction of Drainage at Abiodun Oshibajo
10) Construction of Drainage at Anipupo Street
11) Commissioning of Ojodu Health Care Centre
12) Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation for  widows and  widowers
13) Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation for Senior Citizens of Ojodu LCDA
14) Construction of Concrete Walkway with Streetlights at Erinosho Street Aguda
15) Distribution of GCE Forms to 200 Youths in Ojodu LCDA
16) Purchase of Vehicle for Excos, Legislators and Management Staff.
17) 2017 Table Tennis Competition
18) Distribution of Relief Materials supplied by NEMA/LASEMA to affected persons in Ojodu LCDA
19) National Campaign against Cultism
20) Cleaner Lagos Initiative
21) Hosting Stakeholders Meetings periodically

The commissioning of the Vocational Training Centre and Rehabilitation of the Ultra Modern ICT Centre Shogunro Ogba, showed that Hon Oloro understands   the need for the youths to be empowered and for women as well as men to augment their incomes in order to meet immediate family needs.

The Council boss hinted that the ICT Centre will enable the LCDA to train those who are interested in learning how to be computer literate while the Vocational Training Centre will offer the following skills:
1. Hairdressing and Cosmetology
2. Catering and Hotel management
3. Textile Design
4. Hat making
5. Barbing
6. Computer Operation and Graphic Art Training Section
7. Paint Making/Production Section
8. Computer Repair and Phone Repair Section

Distinguished personalities including Senator Oluremi Tinubu ably represented by Barrister Laide Osijo, Hon Lola Akande (Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation), elected & appointed officials in Ojodu LCDA, party chieftains, elders and Ojodu stakeholders were all on ground to witness the activities chronicling Hon Oloro’s 500 days in office.

Hon Julius Oloro used the opportunity to reiterate his administration’s commitment to continuous delivery of the dividends of democracy to Ojodu people, promising to remained focused on his campaign promises.
