The Chief Executive Officer of Dream Sports Africa (DSA), Chinfa Dombin, has expressed interest in working hand-in-hand with the Lagos State Sports Commission for the delivery of sports equipment, in order to fast-track the development of grassroots sports in Lagos.

He made the statement while on a visit to the Executive Chairman and Director General, Sola Aiyepeku and Oluwatoyin Gafaar respectively at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Dombin noted that what informed his interest in engaging the LSSC in sports infrastructure development is the need to empower the youths through sports, adding that it is an avenue for them to achieve their potentials.

In response, Sola Aiyepeku disclosed that this kind gesture will pave the way for continuous grassroots sports development in Lagos.

“We are ready for this kind of idea. Since it’s for the development of our youtha and Ssports in general, and bringing a new facelift into our sports infrastructure is our priority,” he said.

Aiyepeku also noted that the sports commission is very passionate about grassroots sports development and the introduction of self-defense sports to schools, especially for girl-child.

Oluwatoyin Gafaar pointed out that the initiative is coming at a time the LSSC is embarking on a Community Games which will give room for the youths to flaunt their sporting skills.

“As a government agency, we are ready to welcome any idea that will be for the development of our youths and the Sstate, and to provide avenue for the young Lagosians to be on the global summit of sports,” Gafaar said.
