Dunukofia Mayor Assures Maximum Partnership With Nawgu Community Town Union

The Dunukofia LG Chairman, Mayor Onyemaobi Augustine Nonyelum (Ancestor), on Wednesday, 11th January played host to his home town union, Nawgu Development Union (NDU) in his office at the Dunukofia LG Secretariat Complex.

The new Executives of Nawgu Development Union (NDU) led by the new President General, Prince Frank Okwudili Nwegwu paid a courtesy visit to the Local Government Chairman who is also an indigene of Nawgu for familiarization and to seek for assistance cum partnership towards the development of Nawgu community. The new President General while speaking to the Chairman outlined various challenges affecting the Education sector, Health sector, and Community Infrastructural Development, including most especially ‘restoration of Nawgu original master-plan’.

Addressing the NDU Executives, Mayor Onyemaobi reiterated his commitment towards a liveable and prosperous Dunukofia, in line with Mr. Governor’s, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo agenda. He assured that his office shall partner with the Community Town Unions for necessary developmental decisions. He also assured the NDU that he’s not only going to support the union but, he shall also assist them to any length within his reach.

The Mayor ceased the opportunity to congratulate the new executives and advised them to focus more on doing that which they promised the good people of Nawgu during electioneering period.

“Prince Frank, you’re my elder brother, I know you will deliver and I will be very happy if you do. Follow your heart, concentrate more on those genuine things you consider as priority in Nawgu. You must not do everything but, you have a duty to set a standard where anyone who succeeds you tomorrow will hold on to. My office shall not hesitate to assist you where necessary and within my reach. Partnership with you is not in contest, I don’t even have a choice, Nawgu is my community and I will do whatever I can towards improvement and to enable you carry out your developmental plans for our community.” — Mayor Onyemaobi said.
