As part of the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations and in continuation of his landmark grassroots empowerment initiative, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, Executive Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, will today disburse N50,000 each to 100 petty traders during the June edition of the Monthly Prayer Meeting.

This act of generosity falls under the widely celebrated “Okemoney” Empowerment Scheme, a monthly intervention that has run consistently for close to two years without interruption. The program is specially designed to uplift local petty traders, artisans, and vulnerable groups by providing them with direct financial support to grow their small businesses and improve livelihoods.

Today’s disbursement, which comes during the spiritually significant period of Eid, is a reflection of Mayor Okeowo’s unwavering commitment to social welfare and economic inclusion in Ifelodun LCDA.

The event is expected to draw religious leaders, community stakeholders, political associates, and hundreds of residents, with prayers, goodwill messages, and distribution of empowerment certificates forming part of the ceremony.

Mayor Okeowo also used the opportunity to call for continued support for his administration as he seeks re-election in 2025, while urging residents to stand behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu beyond 2027 for sustained national progress.

With today’s disbursement, the Okemoney initiative continues to stand as one of the most impactful, consistent, and people-focused programs in local governance across Lagos State.
