Ekwunife Commiserates With Chimamanda Adichie Over Mother’s Death

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, over the weekend, in company of the former Deputy Governor of the state, HE Chief Abolle Okoyeagu and members of her campaign organization joined the family of late Prof James Nwoye of Abba community, Njikoka LGA to bid farewell to their late matriarch, Mrs. Grace Ifeoma Adichie.
Late Mrs. Adichie, otherwise known as Nee Odigwe, was the first female Registrar of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). The deceased husband, late Prof James Adichie was the first Nigerian Professor of Statistics. Amongst the children left to mourn the deceased is the renowned Nigerian novelist and writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
The funeral ceremony, which held at late Prof Adichie’s compound, had in attendance dignitaries from across the globe notably the PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the last elections and former governor of Anambra State, HE Peter Obi.
In her condolence message, Ekwunife expressed grief, noting that the late Mrs. Adichie was a woman of virtues and widely loved administrator whose years on earth were celebrated for her selfless lifestyle. She urged the family to take solace in God. Ekwunife prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
Ekwunife on behalf of her family, campaign organization and good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District extended condolences to Chimamanda Adichie and the entire family.
