Election Victory: Obasa Greets Buhari, APC, Says Victory Shows Nigerians’ Desire To Move To Next Level

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress  (APC) on the resounding and well deserved victory recorded at the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) early this morning (Wednesday) declared President Buhari winner of the keenly contested election while the APC recorded absolute majority in the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Rt. Hon. Obasa in his congratulatory message released on Wednesday signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Musbau Rasak, stated that the victory recorded by the President and the party has shown clear desire of Nigerians to be taken to the Next Level by the APC administration at all levels.

“It was a keenly contested election and we thank God for this well deserved victory. This is a clear indication of the desire of Nigerians to be taken to the Next Level by APC administration at all levels of governance,” the Speaker said.

He stated further that with the socio-economic progress achieved in the past four years by the APC administration at all levels of governance in the country, Nigerians, with the new mandate given to the party at the national level, have confirmed their support for the reform programmes of the President. “Nigerians have again trusted us with their mandate and I assure that we won’t disappoint,” he said.

Rt. Hon. Obasa commended INEC on its performance saying that commendations from local and international observers were confirmation of the transparency of the electoral process. “Commendations from local and international observers have confirmed the commendable performance of the electoral process and I will give INEC a pass mark for its performance,” he said.

Rt. Hon. Obasa however called on Nigerians not to rest on their oars appealing to them to vote massively for the party’s candidates in the Governorship and State Assembly Elections coming up on Saturday, 9 March, 2019.

“We are grateful for your support and we assure you that the APC administration at all levels will not let you down as we will continue to put in place programmes and projects that will improve your standard of living and enhance your welfare.

“However, we will continue to ask for more support from you. Therefore,  I humbly appeal to you to come out en masse on Saturday, 9 March, 2019 to vote for our candidates in the Governorship and State Assembly Elections all over the country. I want to particularly appeal to Lagosians to vote for all our candidates in the coming election.

“Once again, on behalf of my colleagues in the Lagos State House of Assembly, I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of our great party on this resounding and well deserved victory and I say let us do it again on Saturday, 9 March, 2019,” the Speaker said.
