It is rather embarrassing that a maintenance company for the Nigeria’s National Assembly will be in the news for the wrong reasons.

P.M.EXPRESS findings revealed that the maintainace company, Thyaura Services, has been owing maintenance staff and cleaners 4 months salaries.

Following the inability of the company to pay the workers, Legislators and staff now have to pay from their pockets to maintain or repair air-conditioning systems in the offices of the National Assembly.

According to one of the workers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, they lost one of them to a minor ailment weeks ago owing to lack of funds as they were being owed salaries for the past four months.

A staff of the National Assembly, Abdullahi Rabiu, said that the air conditioning system in their office has not been functioning and the office had been very uncondusive. He reportedly called the attention of the maintenance company but was told that they cannot do anything about the situation except he was ready to cough out the money.

“I eventually doled out N15, 000 for the air conditioning system to be fixed. I’m left wondering if the National Assembly Management has not paid the company for their services or the maintenance company, Thyaura Services, reneged on the agreement to provide services” Mr. Rabiu said.

As an insider too, I will tell you authoritatively that the National Assembly has refused to pay the company for over 5 months. The guys there are really playing politics with the contract.

The fault is from the National Assembly, the company tried to manage things but with no payment from NA, the company has no choice.

  2. Joy Ikechi says:

It is obvious that proper investigation was not done by the News company before publicizing this article.
This news is one sided as findings reveals that National Assembly has not paid the accused company for over four months and despite that the maintainance staffs have been doing their jobs
