Emulate MKO Abiola: Buruj CEO Charges Wealthy Nigerians

On the occasion of celebrating the Democracy today June 12, the management of Buruj Sports Academy is joining Nigerians both at home and in diaspora to share the joy of the day that symbolises unity, justice and freedom in the annals of the country’s history.

Following the event that led to the death of the symbol of June 12, Basorun MKO Abiola, a man who won what had been widely adjudged as the most acceptable election in the political evolution of the country but was annulled by the military junta led by General Ibrahim Babangida in 1993, succesive administrations have failed to recognise the day until the incumbent President Mohammed Buhari did the most needful.

The CEO of Buruj Sports Academy, in recognition of what Alhaji Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola lived for, most especially in the area of sports development and philanthropic gestures is using the occasion to challenge well meaning Nigerians to use their wealth to support worthy causes like Chief Abiola did all through his life.

“We want to appreciate the administration of President Mohammed Buhari for addressing that injustice as he finally recognise June 12 as our real democracy day. That election remain a watershed in our political history and the life lived by the symbol of that event Bashorun MKO Abiola is worthy of emulation”, he began.

“During his time, he always support good things by helping so many individuals to achieve their dreams in various fields of human endeavours. It was his deeds that made all and sundry to support and vote for him even though it was wickedly annulled. But what we can do to truly immortalise him is that those who are in position to help the less privilege in the society to rise to the occasion. ”

“For example, when Chief Abiola was alive, he supported sports in various ways from the grassroots to the national level. Who can forget Abiola Babes?
It was his philanthropist gesture that helped many of our ex-internationals to attain their dreams in sporting world and we hope that on this occasion, people like that will emerge to help young boys and girls reach their potentials,” he concluded.
