A self acclaimed spiritualist, Fabiyi Stephen, reportedly had a bitter experience from one Emmanuel Adekunle, from who he attempted to cast away evil spirit through prayer and deliverance in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that during the prayer and deliverance, the evil spirit inside Adekunle repeatedly directed Stephen to return the N300,000 he obtained from him because he was fake and cannot deliver Adekunle of the spirit as he had claimed.

The incident happened at Ikotun area of Lagos, where both Adekunle and Stephen reside.

The prayer and deliverance came to an abrupt end and the acclaimed spiritualist, Stephen, was asked to refund the money since he cannot deliver Adekunle as he claimed.
It was gathered that the 49-year old Stephen had met Adekunle and gave him a prophecy that he was possessed by evil spirits that had hindered his progress and he needed deliverance. The victim was asked to pay the said amount of money, which he did before the deliverance eventually failed and turned against Stephen.
The deliverance could not continue and he was asked to refund the money. He claimed that he had spent it and will not be able to refund it.

The matter was later reported to the Police at Ikotun Division and Stephen was arrested. He was later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for fraud by obtaining the money under false pretence.
He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade, granted him bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 22nd January, 2019.
