Excitement As Dr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun Empowers Constituents

The Council Secretariat, Headquarters of Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos, today Monday 30th December, 2019, witnessed an usual crowd as Dr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun, the Executive Chairman, embarked on an empowerment drive.
The event, which commenced fully after the arrival of dignitaries and the opening prayer, drew constituents across party lines.

Some of the items distributed included cash gifts of N50, 000 to 20 constituents, grinding machines, vulcanizing machines, welding machines, hair drying machines, clippers and generating sets, various items for food vendors, catering utensils, office equipment and air-conditioners for the Ikeja Immigration Service, makeup boxes, food items and money for elders and widows, sewing machines, operational Toyota Sienna buses among other items.

Speaking at the event, GAC member and Women Leader (APC, South West), Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, said that it can only get better for Ikeja and constituents as the Council boss, Dr. Mojeed Balogun has maintained focus in the delivery of the dividends of democracy to Ikeja people.

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Dr. Balogun, while speaking to newsmen, said that aside developmental projects he had embarked on across the length and breadth of Ikeja, the empowerment programme was in response to feedbacks from stakeholders and constituents in line with the bid to fulfill his campaign promises to constituents.

Dr. Mojeed further explained that he had initiated programmes and policies aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the people. He urged the people of Ikeja to continue to support his administration in its quest to reposition the Local Government for socioeconomic development.

Speaking with P.M.EXPRESS at the event, the former Sole Administrator of the Council, Engr. Abiodun Taiwo, eulogised the Executive Chairman, Dr. Mojeed Balogun, for his genuine efforts aimed at moving Ikeja to greater heights. He said that aside the beneficiaries, with the passion for development as being exhibited by the Council boss, that more constituents will be captured in the subsequent empowerment exercises.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Dr Mojeed Balogun and the Ikeja leaders, and prayed that God will continue to bless and guide them.

High point of the event which attracted the likes of Alhaji Dally Adeokun, Prince Oluranti Olufon, Mayor Alani Okikioposu, former Chairman, Wale Odunlami, Alhaja Ogun, a host of other All Progressives Congress chieftains and appointees, religious, traditional and community leaders, was the handing over of the items to the beneficiaries.
